Re-deploying MFCU staff to community

This is a difficult time for all of us. There is a lot of uncertainty around Covid-19 in our common bond, across Ireland and worldwide. The latest Government guidelines include the closure of all retail outlets except those which offer essential services. MFCU falls into the essential services category and as such will remain open.

We are keeping our doors open for vulnerable members who need access to cash. For some members, we are their only financial service provider. We have a duty of care to these members. Opening times and branches will be reviewed on an ongoing basis as the pandemic progresses.

Even though we remain open, many of our services will either not be required or will not be offered. This means that the daily roles of many of our staff are not required at this time. But we are nothing without our excellent staff who serve our members every day. We want to commit to retaining all our employees into the future despite current uncertainty.

Without the need for a variety of roles, we are re-deploying some of our staff to help in the community in any way we can. We have our MFCU van which can be used to transport goods. We have staff across our common bond who are on hand to offer community service of any kind.

If you need our help, or know of anyone who does, please get in touch. If you are involved in another initiative with similar goals, we’d love to get involved. No job is too big or too small. If we can help in any way, we will.

Community is our only immunity.
