What we do with your data

Today marks the implementation of the new General Data Protection Regulation (‘GDPR’) into Irish and EU Law. One thing that will not change for us is our commitment to protecting your privacy. However we must now provide a detailed explanation of how we go about ensuring this protection.

The purpose of this post is to update you on today’s importance, and is not intended to cover the entire process of our data protection compliance. You’ll find more information on our Data Protection page.

What will change?

When you visit our branches, you will find some new documentation that will help educate you on our GDPR compliance. We have a new Data Privacy Statement and Data Protection Booklet. All our application forms are now GDPR compliant, with any information we ask you for being absolutely necessary for the completion of these applications. You’ll also find a new infographic video on our television screens in branch, which outlines how we process your information (you can watch this video below).

On our website, you will find all these documents in digital format, available for download. You’ll find these on our Downloads page. At the top of this page, in our website navigation, you’ll find a new Privacy menu. Within this menu you will find everything you will need to know about our Data Protection policies.

What do I need to do?

Sit back, relax, and know that we have everything under control. Nothing will change for you as a member with us, apart from an improved ability to access the information we hold. If you have any queries, please don’t hesitate to ask us in branch, over the phone on (01) 851 3400, or email DPO@mfcu.ie.

Here’s our GDPR Infographic video, which outlines some of the key points to note;
