Credit Unions Lead the Ireland Sustainability Reputation Index 2025

While many organisations are working to prove their sustainability ambitions, credit unions across Ireland have taken the top spot in the Ireland Sustainability Reputation Index 2025. Everyone at Member First Credit Union is proud to share this achievement with all our members.

The Sustainability Reputation Index 2025 highlights the strength of public trust in credit unions and the ongoing impact the movement has on communities across the country.

What the Ireland Sustainability Reputation Index actually is

The Ireland Sustainability Reputation Index is carried out every year by The Reputations Agency. It evaluates how people perceive the sustainability efforts of 100 well known organisations. Only people who are familiar with an organisation can rate it, which keeps the scoring fair and rooted in real experience.

As per The Reputations Agency’s article, the index measures four sustainability pillars which include Conduct, Environmental Impact, Social Performance and Workplace. These pillars contain 16 factors that follow the guidance of the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive. This structure makes the index a consistent, credible and widely respected benchmark.

Key findings from the Sustainability Reputation Index 2025

As outlined in The Reputations Agency’s 2025 report, the study surveyed 5,500 individuals and analysed 100 organisations across four sustainability pillars and 16 sustainability factors.

These factors reflect the European Sustainability Reporting Standards. The report found that sustainability influences 53 percent of an organisation’s overall reputation.
